Don’t worry, you are not out of shape! But riding your bike at a relentless altitude of 4000+ meters above sea level can take its toll on anybody. Remember to catch your breath when bombing down 1500 meter descents with some days pushing towards 3500 meters of pure, awesome trail riding descent.

Experience the magic of the incredible Andes mountains! You will ride on ancient footpaths and spectacular natural single-tracks with sceneries so diverse they will blow your mind. Ecuador’s  biggest volcanoes are all around and close enough so you can ride down their slopes! This is the land where you can start your ride at 5000 meters and finish the day at 800 meters above sea level linking just 2 very long and amazing trails!

Ecuador is a compact country, where the Andes mountain range is not as big as further south in the continent, making it very accessible to the most iconic natural wonders and highest mountains and volcanoes. It is one of the few countries in the world where you can have breakfast at the beach, lunch at high altitude and dinner by the eastern Amazon jungle. Not to mention the famous Galapagos Islands of course on which Darwin based his Theory of Evolution!

The journey starts in the capital Quito in the north located on the Equator, the oldest city in South America and the first to declare independence from Spain. Then it is down south towards beautiful Cuenca where the great Inca city of Tomebamba once laid. In between you will ride Ecuador’s best trails whilst crossing through amazing indigenous regions and sampling some of the best cuisine in the country. Ecuador surprises over and over again!
